REFLECTION
Being able to develop a tabletop card game has been a really enjoyable and insightful experience for me, especially since I’ve always loved playing card games with friends and family. Working on the creative side of things made me realize just how much effort goes into making a game fun and functional, from extensive playtesting to ensuring the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I never fully appreciated how much research and thought went into those details until I experienced it myself. Designing the game also taught me a lot about the importance of visual elements, like the art style and font choices, in creating an engaging experience. On top of that, working with my team was one of the highlights of this process, as we all shared the same passion for our tabletop game, which made brainstorming and discussions productive. Apart from that, I also learned a lot about game development in general through this module, like analyzing my favorite game and understanding how game mechanics work. This experience has definitely deepened my respect for the creativity and complexity involved in making games, especially ones I enjoy playing.
