INSTRUCTIONS

Vormator Challenge
Each person will get the exact same set of shapes . With these shapes you are challenged to create your own unique design, within the limitations provided in the Rulebook. Designers are thus challenged to create a unique piece within a strict set of rules. It all comes down to pure skills and creativity in this project.

  • You are allowed to rotate, flip and duplicate the elements
  • Scaling is allowed but proportionally
  • Add, subtract, intersect and group elements as you see fits
  • Use of colour is unrestricted
  • Elements may be filled

PROCESS WORK

Outline
In Week 2, Mr. Hafiz taught us to trace out the shapes that were provided using the pen tool and to form a unique character out of them. Right off the bat one of the shapes reminded me of tentacles. So I decided to base my character off an octopus-like creature.
Figure 1.5: Forming the outline

Colour
In the process of colouring, the character was initially meant to be blue but I figured if I were to add water in the background it would look too blue. So I decided to go with a light shade of purple with a few compliments of blue so that it looks more like a character that lives underwater.

Effects and Filters
I added effects on the character's main body to give it some texture. I also added half circles using the pen tool onto the tentacles to give it a more animated look. In addition, I added a drop shadow so that parts of the character stands out more and its easier to visualise its form.

Pokemon Card
In this process, I added a background for my character. I decided to make it a Ghost and Water Pokemon that lives underwater.
