PROJECT 1B: RECOLOURING BLACK & WHITE
Choose one photo from the given folder:

I have chosen this picture for the recolouring process.

Figure 2.1: B&W Picture

I searched up an image of a model on Google for colour reference. I then used the eye dropper tool to sample the colours to colour my model's skin, hair and lips.

Figure 2.2: Colour Reference for Skin, Hair and Lips

Applying the colour reference to my model using the brush tool, then applying overlay and reducing opacity of the brush tool.

Figure 1.3: Recolouring Skin, Hair and Lips

Using the eye dropper tool, I extracted the colour from a reference image that I intend to make the colour of my model's sweater.

Figure 1.4: Colour Reference for Model's Clothes

After doing the same to the model's sweater using the same process as her skin, hair and lips, this is the final outcome.

PROJECT 2A: DOUBLE EXPOSURE
For this Exercise, I based off the images I wanted to look for according to my self portrait. As I had flowers on my face, I wanted flowers to be incorporated within this design, I also went with a blue texture background along with some clouds to make the design overall softer.

Figure 1.3: Flowers
Figure 1.4: Clouds

Figure 1.5: Portrait

Step 1: I added a background to the design and converted my portrait as an object, I also duplicated my portrait and added the 'lighter colour' filter to make it look like a shadow.

Figure 1.6: Step 1

Step 2: I began the double exposure by adding the image of flowers I found onto the lower part of my portrait. I did this by using the clipping mask method that was taught during our tutorials.

Figure 1.7: Step 2

Step 3: I added some clouds into the design to make it look less empty because the bottom part looked like it was awkwardly cut out.

Figure 1.8: Step 3

Step 4: Lastly, I added gradients and levels to the double exposure exercise to give it some texture. The intention was to make it look like a painting.

PROJECT 2B: CONCEPTUAL PRODUCT PHOTOSHOOT

Research
In the first stage, I went on Pinterest to create a mood board to further enhance my ideas on integrating the two objects. Based on my research, these are the pictures I find interesting:

Figure 2.1: Headphones and Donuts

Figure 2.2: Lighter and Paper Fire

Figure 2.3: Brush Handle and Piano Keys

Sketches
I then drew sketches for my ideas, then took pictures of my objects with the same angle and lighting.

#1 Headphones and Lemon: Headphone speakers are replace with half a lemon on each side

Figure 2.4: Headphones and Lemon Idea

#2 Lighter and Light Bulb: A lighter that is lit up but instead of emitting fire it’s a lightbulb, because they are both bright

Figure 2.5: Lighter and Light Bulb Idea

#3 Wooden Spoon and Ukulele: The shape of the spoon is similar to the shape of the ukulele, I intend to use it as the base of the ukulele whilst the strings go along the handle of the spoon, as the neck

Figure 2.6: Wooden Spoon and Ukulele Idea

Mock Up

Step 1: I took pictures of the two objects with A4 paper as a background and the lighting being overhead

Figure 2.7: Object Photoshoot

Step 2: I used the select object and mask object through the lasso tool in order to cut out the headphones from the original picture. Then I re-corrected the smaller details to ensure parts of the headphones are cut out properly

Figure 2.8: Importing Headphones

Step 3: I used the same method with the half cut lemon then I duplicated the lemon and angled it differently for the other side of the speaker.

Figure 2.9: Importing Lemon

Step 4:
I increased the brightness and adjusted the saturation to make the image more visible and to make it look like the two objects are blending well together.

Figure 2.10: Filter Adjustments

Step 5: I decided to add shadow to emphasise that the lighting of the photoshoot was at a certain angle. The first step to this was to use the brush tool to shape out the shadow.

Figure 2.11: Brush Tool for Shadow

Step 6: To enhance the shadow, I added gaussian blur and reduced the opacity of the brush, similar to what I learned for the Hearst Mansion Exercise
